Umargaon Police Recover 32 Lost Mobile Phones Worth ₹7.07 Lakh and Return Them to Owners; Also Organise Cyber and Traffic Awareness Programmes
Umargaon (Valsad): The Umargaon police team has recovered a total of 32 lost/missing mobile phones worth approximately ₹7,07,000 belonging to citizens and returned them to their rightful owners! Along with this, cyber crime and traffic awareness programmes were also organised!
Gujarat State Director General of Police and Chief Police Officer G.S. Malik, Gandhinagar, and Surat Division Inspector General of Police Prem Veersingh (IPS), Valsad Superintendent of Police Yuvrajsinh Jadeja (IPS), and Vapi Division Deputy Superintendent of Police B.N. Dave have advised citizens to immediately register their lost or missing mobile phones on the CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register) portal. They also urged that if anyone finds a mobile phone, they should return it to the concerned person.
Under the guidance of Umargaon Police Station Police Inspector H.D. Tuvar, Police Sub-Inspectors N.C. Sagar and R.S. Chaudhary organised the “Tera Tujhko Arpan” programme. Under this programme, 32 mobile phones worth about ₹7.07 lakh were handed over to their original owners.
During the programme, citizens were also counselled to follow traffic rules and remain careful against cyber fraud. Police officers appealed to people to register a complaint on the CEIR portal as soon as possible if their mobile is lost, so that recovery becomes easier and criminals can be checked.
Local citizens have appreciated this initiative of the Umargaon police.
